What is an EICR?
All of our Commercial Electrical Contractors are able to carry out an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) by performing a series of inspections and electrical tests to make sure your installation(s) continue to conform to the national safety standard set out by the IET Wiring Regulations.
A commerical EICR will:
– Identify any defective electrics
– Highlight any potential shock and fire hazards
– Bring to our attention any imminently dangerous conditions
– Discover any lack of earthing or bonding
– Provide us with a circuit schedule
– Locate any of your electrical circuits or equipment that is overloaded
Why is an EICR needed?
In layman’s terms, you cannot see electricity and can’t determine whether it is safe or not just by looking at it. An EICR is needed to inspect electrics and test to see whether they are safe or at risk.
All electrical installations deteriorate over time and more often than not, have been added to or altered by unskilled and/or unregistered people. This can cause dangerous electrics and hazardous conditions within your business premises that must be rectified as soon as possible. This is why it is imperative that you regularly have the integrity of all of your installations monitored and checked in order to reduce the risk of harm to human life or livestock on or around your premises.
