Smart Energy Management System

Businesses of all sizes, increasingly recognise the need to be efficient in their use of energy and to develop energy consumption as a source of competitive advantage.

Development of intelligent building control programs, behavioural changes and replacement of inefficient equipment with energy efficient alternatives are just some areas demonstrating real improvements to businesses.

Point Electrical were recently contracted to install a Smart Energy Management System at a Data Centre in Stevenage.

This involved the installation of individual circuit monitoring on all data rack supplies, also known as branch monitoring.

All electrical circuits are now below monitored around the clock 24 hours a day 7 days a week. All the readings are being sent over to their inhouse BMS system and reports can be run to show energy usage.

Alarms can be set to indicate issues or potential issues to help minimise power outage due to clients overloading their racks.
